"Justice was served"
The cry of DC fans for the "Snyder cut" of 2017 superhero epic 'Justice League' have at last been heard.
What is the Snyder cut you ask? Here's a quick rundown (or, if you like, a extended telling of the saga here).
Fans of the franchise will recall that the original director of 'Justice League', Zack Snyder, had to step down as director after the tragic death of his daughter.
Joss Whedon stepped in to complete post-production and shoot extra material.
Rumour has it a lot of Snyder's material was left on the cutting room floor.
Following its disappointing performance at the box office, thousands of fans began petitioning Warner Bros. for this alleged Snyder cut.
This in spite many questioning whether it even exists.
In recent months, 'Justice League' stars Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck jumped on the bandwagon resurrecting the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut trend Perhaps that was the last straw.
HBO Max, who are also behind the upcoming 'Friends' reunion episode, have announced they will debut the infamous "Snyder Cut" of 'Justice League' in 2021.
"I want to thank HBO Max and Warner Brothers for this brave gesture of supporting artists and allowing their true visions to be realized. Also a special thank you to all of those involved in the SnyderCut movement for making this a reality," Zack Snyder said in a statement.
He added: "It will be an entirely new thing, and, especially talking to those who have seen the released movie, a new experience apart from that movie."
According to THR, the Snyder cut will cost $20-30 million to complete. It is expected to be released as either a four-hour movie or in television-style chapters.
Snyder will be working with the film’s original crew to complete VFX and score. Cast members may be brought back for dialogue.

We DC fans need to unite back to one.
We were broken and completely separated for a long time. I think it's about time we united once more into the strong fan base that we are. Despite our differences, we all love the same thing.

And some others:
My #SnyderCut concerns
-it can never be the idealized movie fans had in their heads
-it sets a tricky precedent
-many of its supporters are so angry I was afraid to type this, so who knows how they’ll react if it’s not “their snydercut”— Coy Jandreau (@CoyJandreau) May 20, 2020
Okay, now that the Snyder Cut is ACTUALLY happening - and just hear me out - what about... pic.twitter.com/vzcTLd77dL
