And yes, Billie Eilish CAN be terrifying
Fans of current chart hits and animation will probably love this sequel musical.
Illumination Studios has released the first 'Sing 2' trailer, announcing that the comedy/musical animation will be hitting our theatres in January 2022.
Along with the announcement, we also catch our first look at U2 frontman Bono in his first feature film role of a former rock star lion - Calloway.
The returning cast of Matthew McConaughey, Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon, Taron Egerton, Tori Kelly and Nick Kroll will all be back for this musical sequel - which will feature plenty more contemporary pop songs, including Shawn Mendes' 'There's No Holdin' Me Back' which features in the trailer. There's also a rather creepy rendition of Billie Eilish's 'bury a friend' at the beginning of the trailer too.
This time around, Buster the koala and his all-star cast of performers prepare to launch their most dazzling stage extravaganza yet - but they have to get the now reclusive rock star lion (again, it's Bono) to come out of retirement to do so.
Bobby Cannavale also joins the cast this time around, playing a ruthless mogul wolf named Jimmy Crystal. Plenty of other names have been added to the setlist this time too, including Halsey, Pharrell Williams, Letitia Wright, Eric Andre, and Chelsea Peretti from 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine'.
Here's the 'Sing 2' trailer, which starts off with the comedy before hitting you in the gut with all of the feels.
