Robert Redford's made a career out of playing likeable, charming actors so it shouldn't come as a surprise that his acting swansong sees him in familiar territory.
If the man himself is to be believed, 'The Old Man And The Gun' will be his final film and it looks like it's going to be something pretty special. Directed by David Lowery - the man behind 'A Ghost Story', 'Pete's Dragon' and 'Ain't Them Bodies Saints' - and starring Sissy Spacek, Tom Waits, Casey Affleck and Danny Glover, it tells the "mostly true" story of an elderly, hard-of-hearing bank robber who managed to go on a crime spree across America and became something of a media celebrity from his dealings.
Like a lot of Lowery's work, there's that beautiful sepia tinge to the work and an easy, laid-back feel that means it's exactly the kind of film people will just instantly warm up to - and who knows, there may even be an Oscar in it for Robert Redford as well.
No Irish release date has been set for 'The Old Man And The Gun' as of yet.
