At 80 years of age, Robert Redford can look back on his incredible career and know that he's impacted and inspired countless people.

From All The President's Men to Three Days Of The Condor, and from Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid to All Is Lost, Redford's work has been diverse and engaging. In directing, Redford's work is equally thrilling. As well as co-directing All The President's Men with Alan J. Pakula, Redford also directed Quiz Show, A River Runs Through It and The Horse Whisperer.

In a recent interview with his grandson, no less, Robert Redford looked back on his career and admitted that his time with acting is drawing to an end. "I’ve got two acting projects in the works: Our Souls at Night, with Jane Fonda, a love story for older people who get a second chance in life, and Old Man with a Gun, a lighter piece with Casey Affleck and Sissy Spacek. Once they’re done then I’m going to say, “Okay, that’s goodbye to all that,” and then just focus on directing."

Redford's last directorial effort was 2012's The Company You Keep, in which Redford also starred, playing a former Weather Underground activist who has hidden his true identity from the world for over thirty years. As stated earlier, Redford also directed Quiz Show, for which Redford received an Oscar nomination for Best Director.

It's a crying shame to think we won't see Redford in any future films, but hopefully his work in directing will go on for a few more years at the very least.
