For our money, Christopher Reeve is the only actor alive who could do Superman any justice - and Richard Donner's soaring adaptation of the world-famous comic has been the celebrated version of it.
40 years on, 'Superman' stands as a shining example of how to do comic-book movies right and to mark the anniversary, a 4K Ultra-HD Blu-Ray version of 'Superman' is being released. The Blu-Ray comes with a Dolby Atmos soundtrack remixed specifically for the home theater environment, commentary by original producers Pierre Spengler and Ilya Salkind, as well as the original making-of documentary from the '70s, original TV spots and trailers and more besides.
It's not yet known if 'Superman' is going to receive a theatrical release or if it's just a home release, but seeing how it's a pretty big anniversary, here's hoping we'll get to see this back in cinemas - even if it is only for a night.
The Blu-Ray 4K re-release of 'Superman' will arrive on shelves from November 6th.
