Chris Columbus reckons now is the perfect time to have Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint reprise their 'Harry Potter' roles
With reboots, sequels and remakes hitting our screens left, right and centre, this one actually isn't the worst idea.
With 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' turning twenty this year, lots of folks are revisiting the magical franchise.
Chris Columbus, who directed the first 'Harry Potter' movie as well as its sequel 'Chamber of Secrets', was interviewed by Variety in line with the anniversary.
He suggested the timing could be just right to now make 'The Cursed Child', and he'd love to be the one to helm it.
As a reminder, 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' was a two part play performed in 2016.
Jack Thorne, J.K. Rowling and John Tiffany wrote the story.
It takes place nineteen years after the events of 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows'.
It depicts Harry, Hermione and Ron, now adults, and their children.
Columbus said: "I would love to direct 'The Cursed Child'.
"It’s a great play and the kids are actually the right age to play those roles.
"It’s a small fantasy of mine."
He's right too, given Daniel Radcliffe is now 32, Rupert Grint is 33, and Emma Watson is 31.
Moreover, it would make up for that awful aging makeup at the end of 'Deathly Hallows Part 2'...
