The pair are done done

Pugh and Braff's kind of controversial romance was on the horizon back in 2019 and three years later, they're giving many people (at least online) the breakup that they seemed to want from the get-go. She chatted to Harper's Bazaar recently about the split.

Their breakup was kept as hush-hush as their relationship, but Florence Pugh opened up about their split in a way that has surprised us for such a typically private person, sharing details of how she feels about it all.

"We've been trying to do this separation without the world knowing, because it's been a relationship that everybody has an opinion on," she says, "We just felt something like this would really do us the benefit of not having millions of people telling us how happy they are that we're not together. So we've done that".

It feels honest and candid when she further explains "I automatically get a lumpy throat when I talk about it". With that admission, Pugh reminds us that she is human and not just a superstar.

A desire for wanting "to also be a person" is what has driven her to keep her private life private. Of the media frenzy that usually surrounds couples in Hollywood, she says "Whenever I feel like that line has been crossed in my life, whether it's paparazzi taking private moments, or moments that aren't even real, or gossip channels that encourage members of the public to share private moments of famous people walking down the street, I think it's incredibly wrong".

She makes the point that "I don't think that people, just because they have this job, that every aspect of their life should be watched and written about. We haven't signed up for a reality TV show".

Pugh has also come out in retaliation against fans who focused on one saucy aspect of the trailer for 'Don't Worry Darling'.
