Are you ready for a rip of the 2001 movie?
"The franchise that would one day become the MCU with a GED."
The first entry in the 'The Fast and the Furious' franchise (a film series that has now taken out all of the "THE"s) gets the spoof treatment thanks to the guys over at Honest Trailers.
2001 was quite a stellar year for movie-goers, with the release of 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone', 'Vanilla Sky', 'Legally Blonde', and 'The Lord fo the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring'. It also saw the launch of one of the biggest action/sports car franchises ever.
Taking us on a trip down memory lane with their Honest Trailers take on 'The Fast and the Furious', we relive the high-octane heist movie starring the late Paul Walker, with Vin "human gravel mouth" Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, and "Ja Rule Presents Tyre Festival".
The first entry in the franchise was much simpler than what came after it - mainly, there's no travel into space (which happens in the newest movie 'Fast & Furious 9'), and "the only thing going on at Coachella was truck heists, and to race through LA's trademark traffic-free streets".
The movie didn't win critics over so much, earning itself a 53% Rotten Tomatoes score. Nonetheless, it was popular enough with moviegoers to ensure that the series was kept going all these years later.
So, after 20 years, nine movies, and "a Universal Studios ride that made Vin Diesel the same size as a helicopter", here's the Honest Trailer treatment for the franchise.
