Daniel Craig has, in the past, made no secret of the fact that he found playing James Bond to be utterly exhausting.

So much so, in fact, that Craig said he'd rather self-harm than do another Bond movie. Fair enough, he was obviously exaggerating and what have you, but he followed up said comments by pointing out that he's done everything he can with the character and the only reason he'd continue on would be for money.

The rumour going around from May of last year was that Craig was offered close to $68 million to star in two more Bond movies - which he turned down. The offer was then supposedly upped to around $116 million, and the outcome of that was never finalised.

The latest report from the Daily Mirror has it that Craig has accepted an offer of - wait for it - $154 million to star in two more Bond movies. Breaking that down, it comes out to $77 million per film. As well as this, the Mirror's report claims that Barbara Broccoli - the longtime Bond producer - has set her sights on getting Adele back to sing the next theme song. Adele cancelled the final two dates of her world tour due to damaging her vocal chords, and is said to be considering withdrawing from live performances entirely.

The big factor in all of this is, of course, which studio Bond eventually lands in and who'll be directing the next film. For his part, Skyfall director Sam Mendes has said he's no interest in returning for another film. Moreover, the prevailing theory is that Warner Bros. are actively pursuing the rights to Bond with a view to Christopher Nolan taking over the franchise.

As of now, there's been no official word on whether or not Bond is staying with Sony - but if they're able to secure Craig for another two films, it'd likely go a long way to nailing the rights down.
