A script is in the pipeline
Adonis Creed will punch his way onto the big screen for a third round.
'Creed 3' is definitely happening after its predecessors proved so successful.
The first spin-off slash sequel hit screens in 2015 and was met with rave reviews, award wins and a $173.6 million box office intake. Its follow-up made even more - $214.1 million.
While the first 'Creed' was directed by Ryan Coogler (who also worked with Michael B. Jordan on 'Black Panther' and 'Fruitvale Station'), Steven Caple Jr. took the helm for round two.
The third outing has no director yet, but it has a writer attached, so that's good news.
Zach Baylin will write chapter three after Coogler penned the first film and Juel Taylor and Sylvester Stallone penned the screenplay for the second.
Baylin is also writing the upcoming Will Smith starrer 'King Richard', which depicts the life of the father of Serena and Venus Williams.
No word on the exact plot details.
What's more concerning is that the threequel might not be happening for a while now.
Michael B Jordan's schedule is jam-packed at the mo. Over the next couple of years, he'll star in 'Without Remorse', based on the book by Tom Clancy; 'What If..?' for Disney+; 'Wrong Answer', helmed by Coogler again; and a David O. Russell ('American Hustle', 'Silver Linings Playbook') movie.
His name has also been floating around DC as the possible new Superman.
While we're waiting, we wouldn't object to an Ivan and Victor Drago spin-off. Just saying...
