The news comes just weeks after it was announced that Chris Pratt will voice Mario in a Super Mario Bros. movie
Garfield - that big, orange, lasagna-loving cat who hates Mondays - is making his way to the big screen again.
Chris Pratt will be voicing the feisty feline, who first appeared in comics back in 1978, and was created by Jim Davis.
The Garfield movie comes from Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson’s Alcon Entertainment.
It will be distributed worldwide, apart from China, by Sony Pictures.
David Reynolds ('Finding Nemo') is penning the script while the director is Mark Dindal ('Chicken Little').
The pair previously collaborated on that Disney gem that is 'The Emperor's New Groove'.
Previously, Garfield got the big screen treatment in the 2004 live-action/animated hybrid in which Bill Murray voiced the cat.
It got a sequel in 2006 called 'Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties.'
The news of Chris Pratt voicing Garfield comes about a month after it was announced he will be voicing Mario in a Super Mario Brothers animated movie.
Pratt's previous voice credits also include last year's Disney Pixar movie 'Onward'.
Before that, he voiced the hero Emmet in 'The LEGO Movie' and its sequel.
Chris Pratt's upcoming projects include 'Jurassic World: Dominion', 'Thor: Love and Thunder', and 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.'
