Director Rian Johnson confirms that the fan-favourite is one of us.
Arguably one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year will be this winter's 'Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery', which sees Daniel Craig return as the "Kentucky-fried Foghorn Leghorn drawl" crime-solving detective that everyone can't help but fall in love with. And it turns out that Benoit Blanc is now a gay icon.
The Closing Night Gala of the London Film Festival took place last night, with the Netflix sequel front and centre. During the press conference, director Rian Johnson was asked by a journalist if the whodunnit solver was queer, to which he replied: "Yes, he obviously is."
It's believed that a scene in 'Glass Onion' will show Blanc living with his lover, which is expected to be a cameo appearance from a mysterious actor.
Johnson continued: "There’s nobody in the world I can imagine bringing me more joy for Benoit Blanc to be with. Who wouldn’t want to live with that person?"
Let the speculation begin as to who this unidentified could be. A lovable gay actor living with Benoit Blanc? There are far too many to choose from!
The upcoming sequel film will see Blanc join a colourful new group of suspects who travel to a remote Greek island together after cracking a puzzle sent to them by billionaire Miles Bron. When one of them turns up dead, it's up to the Private Detective to solve the murder - but which of the suspects is hiding the darkest of secrets?
Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline with Kate Hudson and Dave Bautista are all part of the stellar cast this time around.
'Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery' hits cinemas on November 23. It'll be available on Netflix from December 23.
