A documentary on the life and career of Phil Lynott is now in the works from Emer Reynolds, director of 'The Farthest'.
'Phil Lynott: Songs For While I'm Away' will feature interviews from the likes of James Hetfield of Metallica, U2's Adam Clayton, Huey Lewis, Suzi Quatro, Thin Lizzy alums Eric Bell and Scott Gorham, and Ultravox's Midge Ure.
Speaking to ScreenDaily.com, director Emer Reynolds explained that "(having) been a huge Thin Lizzy fan throughout my life, it’s an incredible honour to be bringing this celebratory and intimate portrait of lead singer and songwriter Philip Lynott to the big screen."
Born the son of a Guyanan father and Irish mother, Philip Parris Lynott was the lead singer of hard rock group Thin Lizzy and scored numerous worldwide hits with the band. Towards the end of the '70s, Lynott embarked on a solo career. However, Lynott soon fell into drug-related issues and eventually died at the age of 36.
