These are essentially little dances that your character can do if they win, and one of them is basically a straight copy of Donald Faison's dance from 'Scrubs'.
The scene, if you recall, saw Turk dancing to Bell Biv Devoe's 1990 New Jack Swing hit, 'Poison', for Janitor and Ted's band. Anyway, the scene's dance moves were then put into 'Fortnite' - and Donald Faison isn't happy about it.
At last weekend's Vulture Festival, Faison was asked about 'Fortnite' and the dance itself. "If you wanna see it, you can play Fortnite, because they jacked that sh*t."
Here's the side-by-side comparison.
"I don’t get no money. That’s what y’all are thinking, right? Somebody got paid? No. No. I did not. Somebody stole that sh*t, and it’s not mine any more," snapped Faison. Interestingly, Faison also revealed that he made the dance up on the spot, and was actually late to the set on the day in question.
"If you want to know how good he (Faison) is, he didn't even know what song it was," laughed Bill Lawrence, the showrunner for 'Scrubs'.
Bill Lawrence was also asked about the legality of it all, but sadly had to admit that it was actually legal. "Fortnite had to enquire for the legal… for the legality of it, and it’s fine because it’s just a character dancing," he explained.
That's gotta sting, especially when you consider how popular 'Fortnite' is and how Faison hasn't gotten a penny for his troubles either.
