Metropolis festival is back this year, and it's bigger and better than ever before. Macnas Parade, Galway and Dublin City
'Out of the Wild Sky' is the theme for this year's Macnas parade, which is taking place in Galway city from 5.30pm on Sunday, and 7pm in Dublin on Monday night. Guinness Cork Jazz Music Festival, Cork City

Bram Stoker Festival, Dublin
Halloween wouldn't be Halloween without the Irish author's best known work. The Bram Stoker festival begins in Dublin today, and promises "four days of living stories, four nights of deadly adventures".
