Turns out, as a nation, we're not as cool as we thought we were on the old Twitter machine. Why? Well out of all the TV shows we've had this year, from Love/Hate to The Fall to the likes of Connected and The Walshes, guess what our favourite show to tweet about was? The Rose of Tralee. The feckin' Rose of Tralee.

Don't get us wrong, we did enjoy tweeting up a storm along with the rest of you over those two days in Kerry last August, but is it really the one the whole nation enjoyed talking about most? According to the annual #RaboTweeties it was, and for the second year running too, so we can't even say it was some odd random fluke.

We are only mad about Rose of Tralee folks, there's no point even trying to deny it.

Other awards on the night went to The Original Rude Boys (@ORBsOfficial) who got the Ireland's favourite band award in the #TweetieMusic category while best parody account went to newcomer @boringkearney.

Event organiser Stephen Conmy said last night; "Ireland is a nation of tweeters and the #RaboTweeties is the first awards show to recognise Irish people and organisations on Twitter".
