It's hard to believe that the shows we love so well often stem from the imaginations of just one person, yes they get help bringing these tales to life, but the showrunners are the real nuts and bolts of the whole operation. Ever wonder how in the hell they do it? How one idea in their head can morph into a million dollar production watched the world over? You can find out in this new Irish documentary film called "Showrunners: The Art of Running a TV Show".

Irish company Black Sheep Productions are the folk behind the flick which will feature some of TV's most talented writers including the likes of J.J Abrahms (Lost, Alias), Joss Whedon (Buffy The Vampire Slayer/Firefly) and Bill Prady (The Big Bang Theory). It looks pretty damn cool if the trailer is anything to go by, but as you might imagine, it ain't an easy task running a show, with a 100% burnout rate in the profession. That's right, everybody cracks up eventually. As Hart Hansen, creator of Bones says, if you're doing it right, everyone from actors to crew to networks should always be 'just a little annoyed with you'.

Director of the documentary film Des Doyle says of the film; “These are the people responsible for creating, writing and overseeing every element of production on one of the United States's biggest exports, television drama and comedy series. The film shows audiences the massive challenges that goes into ensuring their favorite TV series air on time, as well as the many challenges that showrunners have to overcome to make sure a new series even makes it onto the schedule at all.”

Other writers that will feature in the production are Kurt Sutter (Sons Of Anarchy), Damon Lindelof (LOST, The Leftovers), Ronald D.Moore (Battlestar Galactica, Outlander), Jane Espenson (Once Upon A Time, Husbands), Jonathan Nolan (Person Of Interest), Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire), Robert & Michelle King (The Good Wife), J.H. Wyman (Fringe, Almost Human), Hart Hanson (Bones), Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus) Shawn Ryan (The Shield) Matthew Carnahan (House of Lies) and many more.
