Netflix have told Sony that they will not be renewing Bloodline after its upcoming third season, making it just the third show to be cancelled by the streaming service after Lilyhammer and Hemlock Grove.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix have also reduced the number of episodes ordered for the final season from 13 to 10, and they have cut the licensing fees for the show.

Netflix don't release ratings for their shows, so it's not known what the viewing figures are like. Bloodline is shot in Florida, which recently got rid of a tax incentive for movies and TV shows that film in the state. This lead to a rise in production costs for the show.

Sony, and the show's creators, could still continue with Bloodline if another streaming service or TV network were to pick it up. This has happened with both Community and Arrested Development.

Bloodline stars Kyle Chandler, Linda Cardellini, Ben Mendelsohn and Sissy Spacek. It focuses on the lives of the Rayburns, a dysfunctional family living in the Florida Keys. The third season will be available on Netflix in 2017.
