It feels like years since we've heard a new Adele song, well actually, other than her James Bond number, it pretty much has been years. The star famously took some time out to work on her third album which is now complete and will be called '25', naturally.
It's now thought the singer will debut her first single of this album on the upcoming series of The X Factor, which would be a massive coup for the show. Show bosses are trying to persuade her at the moment, and she's said to be keen.
One of these 'insider' folk told the Daily Star newspaper; "She watches the show religiously. Producers are well aware she doesn’t need the promotion. Her third album is a guaranteed success. Normally pop stars enjoy a huge boost after appearing on the show, but The X Factor would be the real winners. She would probably give the show its highest ratings. The gig is hers if she wants it, and she seems very keen.”
If she was to agree, a whole week would be dedicated to the star, with the contestants given the unenviable task of taking on her songs - no one can sing an Adele song as good as Adele, no one. However, if all that means we will get to finally hear a new song from the star herself, we'll take it.
Adele actually also admitted previously that she almost auditioned for the show; "We’d be watching and my family would tell me I should go on. I’d look at them and think, ‘F*** you, you just want me to be embarrassed for a good laugh."
