The 'Rolling In The Deep' singer is set to sign a €101 million deal with the record label to release her next studio album.

As per a report in today's Independent, Adele is looking to terminate her contract with XL Recordings, the label who released the singer's '19' and '21' albums. As we reported late last week, a mooted release on XL from Adele this year has failed to materialise and financial reports released by the label confirmed that nothing would be released before the end of the year.

Reasons for the delay now seem to be becoming clear, if indeed reports of Sony's interest are true.

Adele's representatives are understood to be asking for a sum in the region of £100m from Sony to buy her out of her XL Recordings deal - a sum which Sony appear reluctant to pay, preferring a lower offer.

A source told The Mirror newspaper: "Sony want Adele and they will stop at nothing to get her. The money is absolutely huge but they hope she will sign for her own label.

"It means she'll keep a higher percentage of profits from record sales and the proposed tour. She has never been on the road before so it will be a huge money-spinner and likely to sell out within hours."

Both Adele and Sony's camps are keeping quiet on the matter but if this speculation is true, expect to hear more on it sooner rather than later.
