Tom Fletcher in no rush to have kids

Tom Fletcher isn't in a rush to have children.

The McFly star married long-term girlfriend Giovanna Falcone in May and while the couple would definitely like to start a family in the future, Tom says he has more he wants to achieve with the band first.

He said: ''I want to enjoy being husband and wife and I want to be the best dad I can be. I don't want it to compromise being in a band because we have so much more that we want to achieve, but I also don't want the band to get in the way of my family.''

Giovanna added: ''My dad keeps going on about wanting grandchildren, but maybe next year.''

However Tom - who is joined in the band by Dougie Poynter, Harry Judd and Danny Jones - says when he does have children he won't pressure them to follow in his musical footsteps.

He said: ''I grew up playing the guitar because my dad was in a band, but he never forced it upon me so I'd encourage my kids to do whatever they wanted to.''
