Katy Perry sells house

Katy Perry has sold her New York penthouse.

The 'Firework' hitmaker is believed to have made close to the $2.75 million asking price on the sale of the duplex apartment, which she bought for the same amount in September 2010, a month before she wed comedian Russell Brand.

The 1,500 square foot property is situated in TriBeCa and boasts two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a cherry wood staircase, steel kitchen and a south-facing terrace boasting impressive views of the city, the New York Post newspaper reports.

Following their split in December, Katy and Russell agreed the pop beauty would keep their Beverly Hills mansion and the 'Arthur' star was seen moving out of the $6 million property in January.

However, Katy - who is now believed to be dating Florence + the Machine guitarist Rob Ackroyd - is also believed to have left the property soon afterwards and reportedly moved just three miles away from the mansion in Los Feliz, California.

The 'Last Friday Night' hitmaker is said to have purchased a $1.9 million pad - which comes complete with five bedrooms and five bathrooms - as a temporary base until she finds somewhere more permanent to live.
