Heidi Montag: 'I lost over one million dollars'

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt lost over one million dollars.

The 26-year-old ex-'Hills' star - who is living with her husband Spencer's parents rent-free after going broke last year - regrets their previous lavish lifestyle and is embarrassed with how she acted when she found fame.

She told Access Hollywood: ''I've never really counted, so I'm not sure how much we lost. Over a million or so.

''We're very grounded and humbled and money and fame and the fast life - you don't really know how you're going to react to it. I certainly never thought I would become the person that I was.''

Heidi also revealed she doesn't miss reality TV and is happy to have taken a step back from fame.

She said: ''I only miss the money. If we would have saved our money, it would have been better.

''We both just kind of stepped back and have been able to reflect on who we've been, where we want to go and who want to be and what we want in our lives. And it wasn't the path we were going down. So we just kind of changed back to who we originally were.''
