As far as reality TV stars post-fame go, Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino isn't exactly having a good time of it - and is now set to spend eight months in jail for tax evasion.

The star of 'Jersey Shore' was handed down the sentence yesterday following a lengthy trial into his financial affairs, where Sorrentino plead guilty to the charge. He and his brother Marc were indicted in 2014 for failing to pay taxes on $8.9 million in income, and were facing up to 30 years in jail for their crimes.

As it stands, The Situation will undergo two years of supervised release following jail time whilst Marc will spend two years in prison. The Situation will also have to pay a $10,000 fine and over $100,000 in restitution, which he's already paid.

Naturally, the courtroom sentencing was captured on camera by MTV as the scene itself will likely feature in a future episode of the revival of 'Jersey Shore'. Fellow cast members Jenni “JWoww” Farley and Vinny Guadagnino were in the court during the proceedings, alongside The Situation's fiance Lauren Pesce.
