You probably saw and heard all about Ikea Monkey yesterday, as the above picture and video below were doing the rounds online, but in case you were worried, Darwin the monkey is now safely in a sanctuary after having gone on a little expedition in Ikea in Toronto, Canada. After becoming an internet sensation overnight, spawning Twitter accounts, multiple memes, and even a fashion movement, the seven month old rhesus monkey is now in the care of Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary, after being collected from the store by animal services where he was said to be stressed. Poor thing, fame just isn't the easiest thing to cope with now is it. His owner, Yasmin Nakhuda, was fined $240 for keeping the monkey illegally. No word yet on an Ikea Monkey clothing line, but it's probably coming any second now.
