So you’ve just spent another week sitting around the house, wasting away. Finish work, watch TV, eat, sleep, repeat. Well it’s time to break the cycle, and we’re going to help you, by getting you out of the house and off that couch.
We’ve teamed up with AIB to put together a list of events happening around Ireland this week, so you won’t be more than a stone’s throw(or a car ride, a more effective means of transport) away from some form of a good time. So here are AIB’s Picks of The Week.
Passenger | 3Arena / Saturday 22nd November
Let's rip off the plaster nice and quick OK? Passenger is €33.50 a ticket, so it's not cheap, but it's the most expensive thing on this list, so you should have plenty left over after to save so much going to our cheaper tips, so it's all good, right?
Plus, if you haven't been to the 3 Arena yet, it's not a half-bad gig to start it out on.
Delorentos | DeBarras / Thursday 20th November
One of the best venues in Ireland outside of the capital, DeBarras is home to just about every band doing a tour of the country.
Damien Dempsey and The Altered Hours are also playing there this week, but we’ve singled out The Delorentos gig on Thursday, only €15 for your ticket, and you’ll get a chance to see the lads showcasing all their new material from the recently released “Night Becomes Light”.
Waterford Winterval | Waterford / 21st Nov - 23rd Dec
Kicking off this Saturday, and running until December 23rd, you have a chance to be one of the first people in the country to really get into the Christmas spirit this weekend my making your way to Waterford.
Santa’s Grotto, a toy museum, a winter themed train ride, an ice-rink, reindeers. I could go on this like for a while, or you could take my word for it, anything remotely associated with Christmas will be there. Fine, don’t believe me? Head over here for even more details.
Disney On Ice | Odyssey Area / Until Sunday 23rd November
One for the kids here, or for those of us who still act like it. The “100 Years of Magic” show has 65 of your favourite characters, playing out 18 beloved stories.
We’re talking about Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Nemo, Woody and Buzz all under the same roof, and on ice. Make it your business to get a seat, and that shouldn’t be too tough to do, because there’s nine shows between Thursday and Sunday, so no excuses this time people, get’r’done.
