In what amounts to little more than 'Celebrity Karaoke', Britney Spears' manager has confirmed in an interview that the singer rarely actually, y'know, sings while on stage.

Spears' Las Vegas residency 'Piece of Me' began at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino at the end of December last year and is scheduled to go all the way through to the end of February NEXT year, earning Britney somewhere in the region of $30 million. It might be nice if she sang for a bit more though, no?

Adam Leber, Spears' manager, said in a piece originally seen on Medium.com that "to put on the show that she puts on, it's virtually impossible to sing the entire time and do what she does".

"She's singing on every song, basically, when she has the ability to sing. There's no way you can dance for 90 minutes straight and sing the entire time" Leber continued, perhaps forgetting literally dozens (probably more, in fact) who do this very thing night after night on tour across the globe.

Tickets for Spears' series of Vegas shows can fetch up to $180 for one seat, with black market tickets fetching two or three times that figure. Hell, you can even get yourself an awkward photo op with Britney for the cool price of $2,500. Total barg.

Whichever way you look at it, it doesn't really seem like many folks have too much of an issue with Britney's singing (or lack thereof) as an incredible 120,502 of 120,891 tickets have been sold for the shows to date.

With all of the above in mind, perhaps it's not actually the worst idea for Britney to pretend to sing while on stage when you consider that she actually sounds like the video below when her microphone is switched on. Yikes.
