Battle of Britpop? What Battle of Britpop?
Alright, both Noel Gallagher and Damon Albarn have pretty much admitted in interviews over the years that that whole thing was mostly a social media construct - but it's still strange to see the supposed adversaries sharing a stage.
That happened last night, when the pair were part of a supergroup for Clash bassist Paul Simonon's 60th birthday, playing a gig together in London.
The group also included Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders, rapper Kano and Zak Starkey, who played a number of Clash and Gorillaz songs together. Noel Gallagher even took on Shaun Ryder's vocals on Gorillaz song 'Dare'.
