U2 will play three dates at Dublin's 3Arena later this year, according to reports that suggest Bono confirmed the gigs in an interview with the late Tony Fenton.
The band announced a world tour titled 'Innocence + Experience' last December, on the back of their latest album 'Songs of Innocence'. It kicks off in Vancouver next month.
They didn't announce any Irish gigs at the time, but the accompanying press release said "In addition, special shows are being planned for Dublin for the end of next year – to benefit the U2-initiated Music Generation project - details of which will be announced as soon as they are finalised."
Now reports suggest that the late DJ Tony Fenton, who passed away in March, conducted an interview with Bono during which he confirmed three gigs at Dublin's 3Arena around Christmas.
The interview is due to air on Today FM this coming Monday at 3pm.
