The Edge has said that his band's next album will sound more like a throwback to their 1993 album 'Zooropa'.
Although Zooropa remains a polarising album to some U2 fans, 'Songs of Experience' - which is expected to be released sometime this year - will have parallels with that album, according to the guitarist.
He told Q magazine: "[Producer Brian Eno] would love to see us making albums a bit more like that. Where we go, ‘You know what? We’re not going to second-guess any of this. Let’s just go for it.’ I think there’s a quality you get when there’s a certain momentum to the process.”
Recording on the album is allegedly already underway, with the band knuckling down in spare time during their recent 'Innocence + Experience' tour.
