The Who's guitarist Pete Townshend has said in an interview that he "doesn't like" his band's own shows because he finds them "too easy".
The guitarist was speaking to Uncut magazine about the band's forthcoming North American tour, as well as their summer UK dates, and said that he was not "particularly excited" about them.
"The shows? I don’t like them," he said. "I don’t find them fulfilling. But I’m brilliant at it. I find it incredibly easy. I drift through it."
"I get out the other end and the next day, somebody comes up to me and says, 'You were fucking amazing yesterday!' It’s like being able to make a pair of shoes and knowing that you’ve got to a point that whenever you make a pair of shoes for somebody they’re going to last them for life. I don’t get particularly excited about it, but I do find it easy."
Which all begs the question: why are you, an overprivileged and very rich musician, still doing it, Pete? It couldn't possibly be for the mon…. oh.
