Despite the numerous denials over the years from both Morrissey and Johnny Marr, rumours of The Smiths reuniting are like a pesky fruit fly that just won't go away.
Now, thanks to the establishment of a new official (and verified) Twitter account for The Smiths, who split in 1987, the rumour mill has began to churn yet again.
However, as mentioned on the profile page - which has yet to post a Tweet, by the way - the account is managed by Warner Music UK and will most likely be used as a promotional tool for the band's back catalogue, which was acquired by Warner in 1992.
However, that hasn't stopped people from speculating that a reunion is finally in sight:
.@Smiths_Official are now on Twitter! Does it mean a reunion is happening soon?!
