Somewhat predictably the Dublin band's fourth album has gotten off to fantastic start.
Fresh off what was, by all accounts, a complete stormer of a homecoming gig in Dublin castle in recent days The Script will be celebrating this weekend after their fourth album debuted at the summit of the Irish album charts.
Backed by the almost unfeasibly catchy lead single 'Superheroes', we think that this is the record that could propel the three Dublin lads to worldwide superstardom - and you couldn't say that it's not deserved.
Slash's 'World On Fire', also a brand new release, comes in second place while Sam Smith's whopper of a record 'In The Lonely Hour' continues to sell like hot cakes and completes the top three.
Ed Sheeran's 'x' and Chris Brown's 'X' (not the upper and lower cases there) come in fourth and fifth, while the rest of the top ten is taken up by Barbara Streisand's 'Partners', Robert Plant's 'Lullaby and the Ceaseless Roar', Royal Blood's self-titled debut, Kodaline and Paolo Nutini.
