Taylor Swift has become the first musician to surpass a billion views on VEVO for a recent music video.
The star's song 'Blank Space' not only proved a huge worldwide hit, but the video - directed by Joseph Kahn - has hit the huge target in just eight months, making it the fastest video to do so.
The video - which co-stars male model Sean O'Pry and was reportedly inspired by Stanley Kubrick's 'A Clockwork Orange' (!) - joins the hallowed ranks of Justin Bieber's 'Baby' and Psy's 'Gangnam Style', both of which have also hit over 1 billion views.
If you're wondering what the difference between Vevo and YouTube is - well, Vevo is a standalone video hosting service used by many musicians, but its videos are syndicated across the web - which means that people can watch them on YouTube, too.
Swift tweeted about the news yesterday:
The Blank Space video just became the fastest to hit 1 billion views on @vevo & Bad Blood is #1 at pop radio for a 3rd week. THANKS GUYS!!!
