The Stone Roses released their first single since 1995 last night, but unfortunately it wasn't received quite as rapturously as they may have anticipated.
Ian Brown and co. have been in the studio lately, reportedly cooking up their third album for release before their big gigs this summer.
The release of its first single 'All for One', however, was seen as an anti-climax by many fans who thought it was... well, not very good.
You can see the Twitter reaction below - and also hear the song, if you haven't already:
The new stone roses is god awful. Uggg. Disappointing.

All For One has all the hallmarks of classic Stone Roses, but there's an unavoidable undercurrent of dadness running right through it.

That Stone Roses single is so bad it makes you miss the Seahorses

New Stone Roses sounds like bad Oasis but with worse lyrics.
(Regular followers will know I love early Oasis, just to be clear.)

That stone roses tune is hilariously bad, the lyrics are among the worst I've ever heard. Rather eat a lemon ðŸÂ?‹ðŸÂ?‹ðŸÂ?‹

The new Stone Roses song sounds like outro theme to a crap nineties power ranger movie.
— Vaun Earl Norman (@VaunEarl) May 13, 2016
Oh no. The Stone Roses new single. Like a crap b-side with truly awful lyrics. #letdown #hype

Congratulations to Ian (aged 7) of Manchester Primary School competition winner to write the lyrics for the new #stoneroses song #allforone

22 years it took the Stone Roses to come up with All For One. It's shite. They shouldn't have bothered.

I feel second hand embarrassment for stone roses, such an influential, talented band and they produce that shite

To be fair, there were some people fighting their corner, too - including Ant & Dec:
Stone Roses new song is amazing, roll on June ðŸÂ?‹

Love the new #stoneroses tune. Sure it's simple with awful lyrics but it's really catchy, fun with brilliant guitar on it. Great return.
