Nobody's really sure why Pearl Jam never bothered with Ten outside of the major hits such as Jeremy, Even Flow or Alive.
Maybe it's just that the songs had such huge impact across radio and the nascent MTV that trying to replicate them in a live setting wasn't really going to work. To date, Pearl Jam have played Ten in its entirety during a live setting only twice. The first was during a concert in Munich in 1992 during their first European tour.
The second time happened last night during a concert in Philadelphia at the Wells Fargo Center. From the very outset of the show, Messrs. Vedder, Goddard and co. took to the stage and began cranking out the entire album. The concert opened with the thunderous verses of Once, before cracking right into Even Flow and on to Alive.
The album's material made up, according to those in attendance at the concert, about a third of their material on the night, with covers from Pink Floyd and The Who also making up a few special moments throughout the show.
Luckily for us, there was someone in the crowd with a decent camera who managed to record a few of the songs, including our personal favourite, Black.
Take a look.
