With reunions of long-defunct bands happening more regularly than ever before, it might be understandable to assume that a band like The Jam, say, might get back together at some point.
Not so, according to Paul Weller. Now twelve albums deep into his solo career, the former Jam frontman says that he will never play with his former bandmates for a big payday - and that goes for The Style Council, too.
He told The Guardian: "I’m not a nostalgic person. Not enough money in the world to do that. I like now. I like today. I don’t want to spend my time trying to recapture something that can’t be recaptured."
The Jam split in 1982 but its rhythm section - Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler - have been playing together under the banner 'From the Jam' in recent years.
Weller will play the Olympia Theatre in support of his new album 'Saturns Pattern' on November 17th and 18th.
