The Spice Girls have not exactly set the world alight with their solo careers and Mel B is unlikely to buck the trend with her rather bland debut album. Although the Scary one has a better voice than most of her fellow Spices, this is little more than ultra-light soul music with hackneyed electronic beats and some rather petulant lyrics about her ex-partner. There's an impressive supporting group (including R'n'B stalwarts Sisquo and Missy Elliott) but even they can't prevent this sounding like the usual chart fodder. It's inoffensive, safe and ultimately forgettable.
