Listen: Kurt Cobain 1988 mixtape has been unearthed and here it is

He's one of the most influential figures over the last two decades but even Kurt Cobain wasn't immune to the odd questionable bit of music fandom.

A mixtape reportedly assembled by Kurt Cobain in 1988, one year prior to the release of 'Bleach', has revealed some of the influences that Cobain had in his late teens and early twenties - and some of them are pretty surprising to say the least.

While there are many selections which you could see (like The Beatles, for example) a few others (Van Halen, George Michael, The Partridge Family) also make an appearance on the collection which Cobain dubbed 'Montage of Heck' and was assembled mostly from his own personal collection mixed with recordings from friends and the radio.
