Jay Z's Tidal streaming service just hit one million subscribers - and as a result, the hip-hop mogul is throwing a massive charity concert featuring some of the biggest names associated with the service.
Tidal has come in for a lot of criticism, with many suggesting that it's a way for already-rich musicians to become even richer, and is aimed at the elite rather than struggling artists - but nonetheless, it has hit the milestone in just a few months.
The concert, dubbed 'Tidal X: 1020' will take place on October 20th at Brooklyn's Barclay's Center, which Jay Z also has a stake in; it's where his part-owned basketball team the Nets play.
It'll feature the rapper himself, Beyoncé, Prince, Usher, T.I., Nicki Minaj, Lil' Wayne, Damian Marley with 'many more' to be announced. Tidal subscribers can buy tickets to the concert, and it will also be streamed live via the service on the night.
It will also feature a number of lesser-known 'Tidal Rising' artists.
All proceeds will be donated to the New World Foundation charity.
