Fashion designer and cape-maker extraordinaire Giorgio Armani has shirked any blame for Madonna's BRIT Awards fall, saying that the pop star was 'difficult' and insisted on the cape design that led to her (down)fall.
The morning after the pop star's tumble, she posted on Instagram claiming that the cape was designed by Armani but that she was fine.
Speaking during Milan Fashion Week, Associated Press quotes the designer as saying "Madonna, as we know, is very difficult. This cape had a hook and she wanted a tie, and she wasn't able to open it with her hands. That's all there is to it."
NME reports that Madge has appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show - to be aired at a future date - to give her own version of events.
"I was told to tie my cape and start much further back and I had to walk further and everyone was worried my cape was going to slide off so they tied it really tight," she explained. "So here I am marching in like the Queen, I got to the top of the stairs and I pulled the slinky string and it wouldn't come undone."
Her new album 'Rebel Heart' is released this Friday.
