Back in the mid-90s this London group wrote songs of urban alienation which were light years ahead of their Britpop rivals. Sadly they became tarnished by witless Smiths comparisons and gradually faded from view. This live album, recorded in LA, is a brave and very welcome return to the public arena. It contains blistering versions of old favourites such as 'Olympian' and 'For The Dead', transforming these delicate songs into exhilarating rockouts. Sterling stuff; let's just hope we don't have to wait too long for the next album proper.
