Last week, we brought you the news that Dubliner Gavin James has signed a prestigious record deal with Capitol Records in the USA.

It looks like 2015 is going to be a busy year for James, as he's also been pencilled in to perform at the Oscar Wilde Awards, the annual shindig that takes place before the Oscars every year, is hosted by the US-Ireland Alliance, and celebrates the Irish in film in America. It'll be held at director JJ Abrams' Bad Robot HQ in Santa Monica.

He'll be joined by another rising Irish star, Megan O'Neill - who is currently based in London and is making waves on the country-pop scene in the US.

Previous Irish acts who've played the Oscar Wilde Awards include Heathers (pictured below with Abrams and Steven Spielberg), Gemma Hayes, Cathy Davey and Declan O'Rourke.
