Not content with being frontman, radio host and all-round nice guy, Elbow's Guy Garvey has started his own record label.
The Mancunian musician has co-founded Snug Platters, a new label that will release only vinyl.
He's founded it with Jim Chancellor of Fiction Records and plans to release the debut EP by fellow Manchester man and one-man-band Steve. It's called 'Danger! High Failure Rate' and is out next month.
All releases on Snug Platters will be limited to 1,000 copies and will be released on 10-inch vinyl, and available only from the Fiction Records online store.
Elbow's last album 'The Take Off and Landing of Everything' was released last year, but Garvey told Q magazine that his debut solo album will be out later this year.
"I was terrified, I was wondering if I could do it without the lads [in Elbow] because I’m so used to having their opinions,” he said. “It was very tense, very hard work. I didn’t do a lot of sleeping for two weeks.”
