As you'll probably have heard by now, David Bowie releases his new album 'Blackstar' next month.

To celebrate, Dublin venue The Grand Social is throwing a weekend-long festival honouring the music icon on January 9th and 10th.

On Saturday, January 9th, Bowie tribute band Rebel Rebel will play a greatest hits set, where they'll be joined for a few tracks by the festival's guest of honour, Gerry Leonard. The Dublin-born Leonard has worked with many high-profile artists, but is best known for his work with Bowie on his last three albums 'Heathen', 'Reality' and 'The Next Day'. He has also toured with and acted as his musical director.

On Sunday, January 10th, Leonard will be interviewed publicly by Tony Clayton-Lea of The Irish Times, before performing a set under his solo guise Spooky Ghost. Rebel Rebel will once again conclude the night.

Throughout the weekend, there will also be further Bowie-related events such as a table quiz, movie screenings, collectors' merch sale and more.
