Ed Sheeran may think he has it in the bag, but in recent weeks Dua Lipa has emerged as a dark horse in the running to record the next Bond theme.
The young British star has enjoyed huge success over the past year, particularly since the release of her eponymous debut album last June - and with rumours about her potentially being the next Bond theme singer gathering steam recently, she has responded favourably to them.
She told Billboard: "I don’t know. I would love to do it, but I’m not recording it… so far… I don’t want to jinx it. I would love to do it.”
Last year, Sheeran claimed on The Late Late Show that he had a Bond theme tune written for the last three years "just in case", declining to reveal anything about it apart from the fact that "it's good".
The last Bond theme was Sam Smith's 'Writing's on the Wall', from 2015's 'Spectre'.
