Yes, but will they have a newsworthy point like "left shark" to create a twitter talking point, hmmmm?!
Some are questioning whether the "British beta pop rock" group are the right choice to play the most American spectacle of them all, that they don't quite meet the vigorous chest bumping criteria required by avid American Football fans - but those people have probably never been to one of Coldplay's live shows. Like them as a band or not, they are - literally - electric.
It's official: we're performing at the @Pepsi @SuperBowl 50 Halftime Show! #PepsiHalftime https://t.co/0dIuzrYbMo pic.twitter.com/76I1XjEB02

As ever, Coldplay won't go it entirely alone, with the likes of Bruno Mars, Beyonce and Rihanna reportedly being lined up to join them onstage. In some additional factoids; the famed halftime show - which was performed by Katy Perry last year - has an expected audience of 118.5 million viewers.
Speaking of their upcoming date, frontman Chris Martin said: "We are so excited and honored and thrilled to be playing the halftime show. It's going to be wonderful and hope we see you there."
Now, if only they could pass on that excitement to Twitter...
Glad Coldplay is performing at the Super Bowl this yesterday. Watching football is exhausting so it's nice to take a nap during halftime.

Coldplay is our second favorite band, right behind Nickelback.

He is a hard act to follow. And it didn't end there.
Coldplay is going to perform at halftime of Super Bowl 50. This is quite literally the worst news in the history of Western Civilization.
