Those of you left heartbroken by the untimely demise of Steve Trevor in the first 'Wonder Woman' movie can rest assured that it's not the last you'll see of him.

Director Patty Jenkins has confirmed today that Chris Pine will be reprising his role in the sequel while also confirming the movie's title: 'Wonder Woman 1984'.

His addition to the cast is slightly confusing however, what with the being dead and all, and even if he somehow wasn't, he would be a very old man in 1984. So perhaps we will just see him in flashback? Or maybe it will go down the route of the 'Wonder Woman' TV show and have Pine play the son of Steve Trevor?

Who knows.

What we do know so far is that the sequel is set to pit Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) against classic comic book villain Cheetah (Kristen Wiig), with Game of Thrones' Pedro Pascal also joining the cast.

Jenkins said previously about the sequel: "The greatest thing about making this [the first] movie was the fact that you're really building to the Wonder Woman that we all love, but not until the end of the movie. The most exciting thing about [the sequel] is literally seeing her loose in the world now, living those classic stories. Here's Wonder Woman, and what can she do?"

'Wonder Woman 1984' is set to open on November 1, 2019.
