Boyband Blue are probably feeling quite… er… blue this week, after learning that they have been dropped by their record label Sony.
The foursome got back together in 2011 to represent the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest, and then took part in TV series The Big Reunion and its subsequent tour in 2013.
They signed a two-album deal with Sony last November, but after the disappointing performance of their 'comeback' album 'Colours' - which peaked at Number 13 in the UK charts - the label has decided not to pursue the contract.
The band released a statement saying "Blue and Sony remain on good terms. After the boys finish on their sell-out tour they will be back in the recording studio. The best friends will continue to do what they love and fans can be assured that there will be more music from the band next year. 2016 will see Blue celebrating 15 years together."
They later posted a long Facebook post criticising their critics, saying "Sadly there are still those "journalists" that find it fun and amusing to preach their negativity and vitriol towards us. Those that don't listen to the fans who buy our music and come and see us live. Those that smile to our face and stab us in the back. They have always been around and perhaps just like us - they are not going anywhere either.
"So let the haters hate and in the meantime we are going to keep on doing what we love for everyone that enjoys Blue and what we stand for, our music."
