Whoever came up with the idea of famous musicians singing along to Disney classics was bang on the money.

The 'Disney Family Singalong' was broadcast on American network ABC last night, and judging by the social media reaction, went down very well with viewers.

It showed a number of high-profile artists like Demi Lovato, Christina Aguilera, Josh Groban and Ariana Grande singing along to classics from Disney movies - from 'The Lion King' to 'Hercules' to 'Toy Story' - with the lyrics on screen for viewers to join in at home.

However, one face that shocked fans was the previously-unannounced Beyonce, who surprised viewers with her rendition of 'When You Wish Upon a Star' from 'Pinnochio'.

Apparently Beyonce sent her recording 'in the nick of time' on Wednesday afternoon, which allowed it to be edited and added to the show - which was pulled together in just two weeks. Normally, a show of this magnitude would take three to six months to come together.

Beyonce told the audience that she was dedicating her song to healthcare workers.

"Hello to all of the families across the world. I'm very proud and honored to be a part of the Disney family and to help present The Disney Songbook Singalong, in partnership with Feeding America," she said. "I'd like to dedicate this song to all of the healthcare workers who've been working tirelessly to keep us healthy and safe. We greatly appreciate you."

She added: "Please hold on to your families tight. Please be safe. Don't give up hope. We're gonna get through this. I promise. God bless you."
